MIMneuro

Why MIMneuro?

Visual analysis alone of PET and SPECT brain images can be difficult and subjective. To address this need, MIM Software provides MIMneuro, an automated quantitative analysis solution for neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, and more.

Robust Registration and Comparisons

MIMneuro deformably matches a patient’s brain to a database of normal brains for comparison. A database of age-appropriate volunteers with no neuropsychiatric symptoms is provided in MIMneuro for FDG-PET and HMPAO-SPECT.

Selections from the database can be easily made based on camera vendor, reconstruction method, and patient demographics, including age and gender, to increase the sensitivity of comparisons. Users can also easily create their own databases for comparison. Multi-modality fusion tools are provided (e.g. PET/MR and PET/CT), allowing for better anatomical correlation of abnormalities.

Quantitative Analysis – Increased Confidence

MIMneuro provides not only one but three powerful, complimentary methods of quantitative analysis: region, voxel, and cortical.

Statistically significant differences are highlighted for all of the voxels in the brain on either the MPR images or the cortical surface projections (CSP). An integrated brain atlas is used to highlight differences for specific brain regions. CSPs also allow for quick localization of abnormalities and provide an easily understood view for referring physicians.

Beyond FDG

Quantitative analysis for amyloid imaging agents is also available. Brain atlas regions can be used to calculate SUV ratios (SUVR) comparing at risk brain regions to reference structures such as the cerebellum. Amyloid scans can also be compared to a user-created normal database using voxel, region, and cortical analyses. And with MIM’s multi-modality fusion tools, correlation of results to CT or MR changes is easily accomplished.
