Streamlined Intra-Op Planning
In the OR, speed without sacrificing quality is paramount. MIM’s guided intraoperative dosimetry workflow, contouring tools, and automatic needle loading algorithms have been designed to reduce the time required to complete brachytherapy procedures.
MIM Symphony’s intraoperative dosimetry tools allow you to shift and deflect needles to reflect the actual positions of the needles after insertion. Now with the introduction of sagittal planning, needle and even seed positions can be corrected in the sagittal plane allowing you to estimate the live dosimetry during the implant.

With existing tools, contouring the prostate on CT can be a challenge. Also, localizing seeds is an approximate and often manual process.

MR or US can be fused with CT to provide better visualization of the prostate for enhanced target contouring. MR-Guided Biopsy...without an MR Suite
Traditional transrectal prostate biopsies are limited by visualization capabilities of ultrasound and difficulty in systematically sampling the entire prostate. As a result, many physicians are beginning to perform biopsies using a template-guided transperineal approach. This has the advantage of helping to attain a more complete sampling and greater confidence of accurate staging.
In recent years, prostate MR imaging has significantly improved for prostate cancer detection. MIM allows you to take advantage of the power of multi-parametric MR through fusion with the transrectal ultrasound helping to target areas more likely to contain tumor. A targeted biopsy approach also introduces the potential for using fewer biopsy cores as compared with saturation biopsy. In addition to guiding biopsies, MR guidance with MIM can be used to direct focal therapy by providing a clearer picture of intraprostatic tumor foci.
Now the benefits of MR guidance are available without the cost of a dedicated MR operating room.
